Fire Retardant Boiler Suits: FR and Inherent FR Coveralls
Buy fire retardant boiler suits online from Rs. 1,399. Two protection levels, one page. FR coveralls use flame-retardant treated fabric for welding and hot-work zones. FR or IFR: The Only Decision That Matters Here
Both suits resist flame. They differ in how, and for how long. An FR boiler suit is treated fabric: the chemistry sits on the cloth and must be maintained through correct washing.
An IFR boiler suit is inherently fire retardant: the protection is in the fibre, so it cannot wash out or wear off. Welding bays and general hot-work permits usually run on FR. Refineries, tank farms and hydrocarbon sites typically specify IFR. If your EHS matrix names the level, buy that level. If it does not, this is the practical split.

Why the Reflective Tape Is FR Too
A detail that fails audits: standard reflective tape melts. On a fire retardant suit, every component has to match the garment's rating, tape included.
All four suits here use FR reflective tape on the standard band placements. The suit stays visible on night shifts and stays intact near heat. One garment, both hazards covered.

Care That Protects the Protection
FR-treated suits have one rule: wash without bleach or fabric softener. Both degrade the treatment. Follow that, and the suit protects for its working life.
IFR suits are simpler; the protection is in the fibre, so normal industrial laundering does not touch it. Either way, retire any suit with burn damage or thinning fabric. A compromised FR garment looks fine and is not.
